How not to be an Architect

2023 - Design Podcast, produced and hosted by me

Architecture is a very demanding profession and holds a lot of passion-it requires you to have a lot of skills. More and more architects are finding themselves transitioning into different careers for various reasons.

As a product designer who once was an architect, I interviewed designers who made a career switch from architecture. Whether it’s designing physical or digital spaces, this podcast takes an honest look into what it is to be a designer.

Game of Lengths

2020 - Published Work

I designed this little game in June 2020, around the time when everyone wanted to go outside and enjoy the summer but also was kind of confused about the 1.5m distance. As someone with a background in architecture and who still has difficulties with measurements, I thought a small comparison including internet’s most famous icon, cats, would make it easier to understand. My design was later published in October issue of PAGE Magazine.

Short time after my designs were published, I saw the Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) posters on explaining 1.5m distance around in Berlin. The resemblance was uncanny.

I guess great minds do think alike.

SheCodes

SheCodes is a coding workshop for women. The workshop covers HTML/CSS, JavaScript and React and teaches skills by building projects.
In a course of six months, I have built a weather app with JavaScript and a dictionary web app using React. The workshop also covered git, hosting, API and responsive design.

Here is my first ever self coded website (watchout for spaghetti code!)

Merry Cat Christmas

Just for fun

I love making collages in photoshop, it’s something that has stayed with me from my architecture past. Sometimes this could go into a fantasy level.

One day I thought, what would it look like, if only a scientist cat were to send a christmas postcard to a beloved human? I guess, it would pretty much look like this.
